Amy is a consultant who joined Hystra in 2018, after setting up an incubator for local social entrepreneurs in Dar es Salaam. At Hystra, Amy has helped to build a number of business models to support last-mile distributors’ procurement of beneficial products in East Africa; has led work on a last-mile distribution sectoral report and supported a public-private consortium to address the problem of waste management in emerging markets.
Prior to working at Hystra, Amy co-founded and managed a social enterprise in Tanzania, linking local social entrepreneurs with financial and TA networks abroad to scale-up high-impact, local ideas via cross-continental collaboration. Other previous experience includes leading research on the start-up ecosystem of Dar es Salaam, which received recognition from the University of Oxford, and working as a consultant for a multi-million dollar health-tech social enterprise in Cambridge.
Amy speaks 6 languages, including conversational Swahili, and is a graduate of the University of Cambridge.
