Alice Magand

Project Manager

Alice is a Project Manager at Hystra. Before becoming a consultant, she began her career in civil engineering, managing on-site teams for water and infrastructure projects. As an engineer, she has worked in several countries, from Jamaica to the UK, and has collaborated with public and private partners of more than 30 nationalities. 

Convinced that change at scale must happen within and through the private sector, and seeking greater impact in her professional life, Alice decided to join Hystra in 2018.

Since then, she has worked on the roll-out of inclusive businesses in the private sector, primarily in the areas of last-mile distribution, access to energy and health. Among other things, at the end of 2019, she spent 6 months in Madagascar helping a social business develop a new distribution channel to reach last-mile consumers in the energy sector. In 2020, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Alice supported a last-mile distributor in Uganda with technical assistance to help it adapt its distribution model. In 2023, Alice was the project manager for the research leading to the open-source report “Scaling up Inclusive Healthcare in Low- and Middle-Income Countries”.

Alice is a graduate of Ecole des Mines de Douai, with a Master's degree in Engineering and a certificate from Ecole Polytechnique de Montréal.
